Back out for a romantic dinner date, Eva Longoria and husband Tony Parker spent some much needed time together at Eva’s restaurant Beso in Hollywood on Saturday night (February 6).
The “Desperate Housewives” actress and her Spurs basketball star hubby walked hand-in-hand as they stepped inside for a tasty meal before leaving to load back up into their awaiting ride.
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ star never dreamed about being an actress when she was at college and is convinced a higher force steered her onto the successful career path.
She said: “Literally one day I said, ‘I’m going to be an actress.’ I never put a thought to it. I never said, ‘When I graduate from college, I want to be an actress.’ That thought never occurred to me. I have a strong faith in God and at that time I felt this amazing guidance coming from above and that gave me strength. It was this special force pushing me to come to Los Angeles and I said, ‘OK, I’m not going to fight it.’ But I always felt very protected. And I felt like this was the place I was meant to be.”
Eva, 34, also revealed she was only led into Hollywood because she entered beauty pageants to pay her way through college to learn to be a sports trainer.
The screen beauty – who is married to basketball player Tony Parker – said in an interview with Prestige magazine: “I paid a lot of my way through college with beauty pageants. Not necessarily for the beauty, but for the money. Fifth place is free books, third place is books and tuition and first place was books, tuition and boarding. Really, that was my motivation. Through one of the pageants I won a trip to Hollywood to compete in this modelling competition. I graduated college and I thought, ‘Oh, I’ll do that trip now before I do my masters.’ I was already enrolled and packed up, ready to get my masters, and I came to Los Angeles and I never left.”
Stepping out for a date night, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker braved the rain to have dinner in Pacific Palisades, Califronia on Friday evening (February 5).
Meeting up with a few close friends, the “Desperate Housewives” beauty and her basketball star beau laughed amongst one another while leaving Giorgio Baldi restaurant following their meal.
EVA Longoria Parker admits her Valentine’s Days usually “suck” — because her sportsman hubby, Tony Parker, always ends up working!
The Desperate Housewives star insists she isn’t fussy when it comes to celebrating the romantic day — she just wishes she didn’t have to spend it with her hubby’s sweaty teammates.
“As long as I’m with my husband I will find the day romantic,” says Eva. ” But it kinda sucks sometimes, ’cause Valentine’s Day always falls on All-Star weekend, and he’s always made the All-Stars.
“So I’m usually with a bunch of big sweaty guys, trying to squeeze in a romantic dinner.”
Eva recently revealed that she doesn’t even associate herself with being attractive and feels there are other women in Hollywood who are far more deserving of the title.
“If I had to describe myself in one word it definitely would not be sexy,” she said. “I don’t feel I am. I do not identify myself superficially but I think it is flattering that the world or people or men or women find me sexy because I think it is a lot of different definitions to a lot of people.
“There are a lot more other women in my profession that earn that title more than I do.”
The actress says she watches what she eats but does not stop herself from chomping on her favourite Mexican dishes, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“I am a big eater, but I do watch what I eat. I love to cook and just love Mexican food. It’s my weakness and any red meat, I just love it. So I’d say Mexican food is my secret indulgence. I also love New York pizza and I just love Indian cuisine – the spicier the better,” she said.
The 34-year-old also revealed she doesn’t do a lot of exercise to retain her sexy trim physique.
“It’s mostly weight training or kick boxing. I have this amazing high for adrenaline. It agrees with me. Your body is a vehicle and you have to take care of that vehicle,” she said.
Eva Longoria Parker is among the guest stars of an upcoming PBS series that looks at race in this country and how we view ourselves, our ancestry and each other.
‘Faces of America’ begins its four-week run on Wednesday, Feb. 10. It airs locally at 7 p.m. on KLRN, with new installments premiering every Wednesday night at that time through March 3.
The series follows Harvard University professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. as he traces the ancestry and racial makeup of 11 well-known Americans, including Longoria Parker.
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria aspires to be the new Posh Spice aka Victoria Beckham. The 5ft 2in actress, who is about to hit TV screens again in the sixth series of Desperate Housewives, was introduced to the former Spice girl by husband, French basketball player Tony Parker, New magazine reported.
“Tony is a friend of David’s and when they moved to Los Angeles, I got the chance to meet Victoria and we just hit it off. So we’re close friends. She’s just an amazing woman,” Parker said.
“I admire the wife and mother that she is and at the same time, this glamorous, beautiful businesswoman. I aspire to be like her some day,” she added.
The 34-year-old actress insists she is also a big fan of fashionista Victoria’s clothing designs. “Awesome! Right now they are my favourite dresses. I
think Victoria is not just another celebrity trying to have just a clothing line. She is fashion and definitely knows what’s she’s talking about,” Parker said.
Partaking in the pre-awards show festivities, Eva Longoria was looking fabulous during an appearance at the Polo Lounge inside the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday night (January 16).
There for a swanky Lionsgate Golden Globe party, the “Desperate Housewives” beauty was all smiles as she spent time chatting with up-and-coming star Bailee Madison.
